The Organ Care System (OCS) is a portable organ perfusion and monitoring system intended
to preserve donor hearts in near-physiologic functioning state ex-vivo for transplantation.
OCS maintains organ viability by continuously perfusing donor hearts with warm, oxygenated
donor’s blood, supplemented with nutrient enriched maintenance solutions. The purpose
of this study is to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of the OCS for the preservation
of donor hearts.
